Kevin the Collie has been attacked by a dangerous dog

Kev has been unwell this week after being attacked by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Firstly I want to say that he is recovering well, although at the time I did not know if he would come away alive. The dog just came running out of a house as we were walking by in the street, (where Kev’s Nan lives) and I tried to get Kevin away but it caught us up and attacked Kevin, pulling him away from me. The owners did nothing to get the dog away, in fact they did not seem to know what to do – I was on my own! I couldn’t pull it because it had no collar, I kicked it with no effect then I remembered that their only weak spot is on the butt. However I was only wearing trainers (I normally wear Timberlands). I kicked it again and screamed right in its face. Somehow that did the trick and it let go. Kev ran off, I told a guy to grab him while I made sure the dog went back inside.
Kev’s ear was ripped away on the lower half and he was sedated at the vet’s so they could clean him up. The wound is being left to heal naturally, without stitches, and he has painkillers and anti-inflammatory medications to take. The guy who owned the Staffie came back to the house and I demanded that he pay the vet’s bill. He came round to see me later with some cash towards the fees, and he agreed to get rid of the dog. He had been saddled with it by a friend and really is not a dog lover.

Kev was kept at the vet’s surgery for three hours and he was obviously in a lot of pain that night, and the next day. On the following day he was virtually back to normal, and he is still just as sociable with other dogs. The dog that attacked Kev was rehomed within forty eight hours

It is a miracle that he wasn’t injured more badly and I am so grateful to have him back in one piece!

Kev had to go for another checkup on Friday and the costs are rising. If you can make a donation we would be very grateful.

Thanks,
Flora

OMG, that is terrible! Poor Charlie, he must have been in terrible pain especially his ear. Oh gosh…The owner of that Staffordshire should be fined for letting his dog loose. He should have done something instead of standing there & watching it all happening to poor Charlie. I’m so very sorry to hear about what happened to him.

That dog really needs some rehabilitation too altho it was not entirely is fault. Yes it was but it was also partly his owner’s fault. That dog is dangerous & needs some professional training. I hope he;s doing well. You know, many dogs who get attacked by another dog whether it’s severe or not, they will get very scared when they meet another dog after that especially after all that trauma & pain it went through.

My sista Chloe, who is a Golden met an intelligent Border Collie at a training grounds. Chloe is such a friendly girl that all she wants to do is play & she can’t fight back. At least I can stand fro myself if another dog tries to attack me. So anyway, she went towards the BC & played bow with it & then suddenly for no reason, it darted at her & attacked her & the worst thing is, her owner an OB trainer said, let it be.

My hoomans tried to stop her but could not & he kept telling them that his dog is trying get to know her. That way? By attacking my sista Chloe? Poor girl…She just fell & did not know what to do. She didn’t get hurt luckily but was very traumatized indeed. She didn’t expect this to happen to her.

When we were at home on the same day, out of the blues, Chloe woke up from her sleep & was flipping all over the lace like she has seizure or something. She was screaming so loud & we all panicked & tried to calm her down. It happened for about half a min & then stopped.

Chloe has twisted her hand & was limping after that. She was panting & was exhausted after that…My hooman called up th vet asking whether it is seizure but the doctor said no becoz if it was, she would have peed, defaecate & would stiff up. But she did not, she just flipped & flopped on the floor like she was possessed. My hoomans then realized, it was a nightmare from that attack earlier on that day coz later, she did not have this prob anymore until today.

Poor Chloe but now she’s fine & we’re never gonna let go close to that BC again or any other aggressive dogs. Luckily she’s still friendly with others that she meets. She’s just a hopeless, friendly & playful girl.

    Please take care of Charlie.

Oh Kevin Lots of Love licks & doggie prayers. We heard on DWB News so we ran over.

I (Sparky) was attacked the same way exactly while mom was checking mail. My ear wasn’t as bad but I now don’t wanna leave my backyard unless all of us go together and mom & dad are we us too. I feel for ya pal.

Actually, I (Crikit) was attacked when I was a pup and dad had to pick me up but dad says I now am too alert something he calls a personality change. oh and our sweet little Ginger now is afraid of everything unless we are in a group because both her and mom were attacked by two extra large shepards on a short walk. They both had wounds to heal.

It can be a scary world when owners don’t train their doggies. Be brave wagging tails

Tx trio barking loud hopefully to scare away the mean ones

  8. Kevin the Collie says:

Thanks to all of you for your lovely wishes, be sure that I am still the same cheeky Kev but Mum and Nan get worried that it might happen again. However Mum says the she knows exactly what to do if it happened again – she kicks hard!!

  9. Hana says:

Kevin, I am sorry to hear what happened!! But, I am glad you are on the mend. I was attacked one time, like your situation where a dog just came bolting out. I think I might have had some puncture wounds that the vet couldn’t see, but overall I was very lucky. My mom is sometimes afraid to take me out for walkies, even though the incident happened over 6 years ago. Stay safe, buddy!

  10. Kevin the Collie says:

Thank you, Hana, how could another doggie attack a beautiful girl like you? Your good wishes are making me feel better already

    Hugs and Licks from

    Kev xx
