Kennel Cough at the Vet
Posted February 13, 2007 What can I say - another vet visit! My cough has not cleared up, in fact everyone thinks it has got worse. Last night I kept everyone awake with my coughing and this morning I was really bunged up. Mum knows that Kennel Cough does not always need antibiotics, but if it persists more than ten days there is a possible bacterial infection. So off we went to the vet. I was quite well behaved even when she put a thermometer up my butt, so I got some treats afterwards. The vet told us that Kennel Cough can be a combined viral and bacterial infection and that there is a chance of it developing into lungworm. Lungworm is spread by foxes and there are lots of foxes living all around here. So now I am taking Synolux for seven days to see the infection off - I hope!
