Dogs are not handbags, Paris.

What size do you think a dog should be? I am a small Collie weighing 13 kilos, the perfect size for town according to Them. As you can see I am way too big to fit in a handbag. When I meet specially bred miniature dogs I often think they look like the grey squirrels that infest London – ‘rats with tails’. Small dogs like these are often carried around by women who see them as accessories. The poor creatures have such short fur that they need to be wrapped up against the cold all the time (not just to match your outfit, Paris). Because they are so dependent on their owners they do not get the chance to behave as dogs, and often suffer from stress and depression. Not that their owners would notice. Sorry, end of rant. If you have a miniature breed I hope you try to help him act as a dog from time to time.
