Dog at Midnight Mass

Mum and Dad took me to midnight mass last year – our first Christmas together – at our local church, St Andrew’s. We had a nice time and I just went to sleep after a while. Tonight we arrived and the incense was wafting around, I think the excitement of the occasion got to me cos I had a bit of a bark. Mum shut her hand over my mouth and told me off, but then I realised I needed to go outside if you know what I mean!! So I made a few howling noises till they got the message. But when we came back in, I started to think about my Christmas presents and I barked again. Horror! dad marched me outside and I was not allowed in the crib procession. Mum apologised to the people around her, and to the vicar, but he was very laid back about it – well, it is Christmas, can’t a dog sing in praise?
