We are still checking out the last suppliers for the remaining furniture at my Nan’s house. Nan still wants to see if there is room for a display cabinet and they have been looking at Century furniture. I wondered why she wanted more furniture because I thought the room looked fine with stuff displayed in the fireplace. ‘Because you keep knocking it over, Kevin’, Nan replied. Well, it is just part of my charm, you know.

We are still dealing with all our property contracts and I am going down to the coast tomorrow to help finish settling my Nan into her new home, then we will be having a look at the new house that we are buying. We are using agents, we do not use the term real estate – over here they are simply called estate agents. They have been fairly helpful considering this is a sector that doesn’t gain a lot of respect over here.

My Nan has decided she needs to get a new bathroom suite because the bath does not have any handles at the sides. I think Mum is pleased because she enjoys choosing all the fittings. For example, lots of effort goes into choosing the right taps – or bathroom faucets as they say on the other side of the pond. The right taps say a lot about your taste and style, so you have to choose the ones that will impress your friends, so she says.

All dogs love trees, and I find it hard to walk past a tree without stopping. Of course I know that I must not do certain doggy things indoors, but now my Nan has bought some silk trees
which are in her living room. They look very nice but that makes things a little confusing for a poor dog.

When we were at the Green Fair yesterday we noticed that the stalls were all giving away Pens and key rings with their logo or contact details printed on them. This is quite useful because of course we had not taken a pen with us and we wanted to contact some of the exhibitors next week. So we took a pen from each of them. There were no giveaways with pictures of dogs but I did find this horse key ring.

We were watching our favourite chat show on TV last night and one of the guests was a singer about whom people have joked that he has a regular booking for his addiction treatment. His girlfriend, a supermodel, has also been through rehab twice: can you guess who I am talking about?
