Hey - Mum found the lead for the camera and uploaded my photos taken at the Black Horse in Climping. I liked this pub very much, it was really dog friendly. When I arrived another dog was with his family while they had lunch. The barman took this nice photo of me and Mum by the antique brick fireplace - she loves stuff like that. And Nan said this confirms that she wants to live here. Tags:dogs, weblog, pets, diary, dog food,
I must let you know we discovered a very nice new pub where dogs are welcome today. We went to Climping in East Sussex, which is a very pretty little hamlet with a fab Gothic fantasy hotel, a great uncommercialised beach and a very smart pub. The Pub is called the Black Horse: we asked if I could come in and they made me welcome. When we got inside there was a very nice Cocker Spaniel sitting with his family while they ate lunch. Picture to follow, I think. Tags:dogs, weblog, pets, diary, dog food,
Last night we went to my favourite dog friendly pub. Dad threatened to leave me at home cos I was barking but in the end we all went out together. Of course, I know the way to the Royal Oak, and as soon as we walk in that direction I get more and more excited. Last night I was the only dog there so I gave a few woofs to introduce myself. I asked a man to give me his cheese roll but he wasn’t playing ball. Then the landlord came across with some corned beef as my treat: Mum thought that was a good idea - ‘meat is much better than crisps for a dog’. Oh Yeah? I’ll have both!
Well I have not had a really good walk in the woods for a few days as Mum has been at the gym wuite often. Mum took me shopping in Finchley and went to her favourite, dog friendly, Turkish grocer, in Finchley High Road. The man who runs it came and made a big fuss of me: Mum was really pleased. Later on we went to the pub - I know the way now. It was a bit quiet, people must be saving their cash for Christmas. Tags:dogs, weblog, pets, diary, dog food,
We do not understand why it is that some pubs are so relaxed about letting dogs in, and others have a complete ban. We were looking at the doggiepubs site recently, and this is what they said: ‘The commonest excuses about not allowing dogs are “it’s the regulations”, or “Brussels”, or “they wurrrah-wurrrah the bar stools”. Fair enough, but we are not sure why “the regulations” apply to some pubs and not others.’ Tags:dogs, weblog, pets, diary, dog friendly, dog food,
Mum was worrying that I seemed a bit subdued last week after my visits to the vet’s. We had not been far afield and I am still getting used to my new home. My new place to lie is next to the Aga, which is my idea of dog heaven, and I read the Muswell Hill Journal. No surprise if I am a bit quiet - I’m sleeping..
On Friday night we went to the Royal Oak, still the only dog friendly pub in Muswell Hill and a very good pub anyway. I always recognise the route when we walk there, and I get excited. Which dogs would be there? When we arrived I spotted the Schnauzer, another regular, so I went to say hello. I bounded back to Mum and leapt up on to the seat beside her - that will teach her to say I was quiet! She quickly shooed me off, cos I never get on to furniture as a rule. The Yorkshire Terrier arrived soon after and he is always friendly. Then the evening got better as the Landlord came in with his golfing team. Bliss - twenty new people to sniff out. I had great fun mingling, and popping back to reassure Them I hadn’t gone outside. In spite of my new diet, I did have a couple of cheese and onion crisps. Suddenly I felt a bit more lively.
