My Dad said he never realised that planning a dog’s diet would become more important than their own meals. Today he made some soup with some cauliflower leaves – for me!!. You remember I have been eating Burns ‘Real Food for Dogs’, this complete dog food has a good reputation among dog owners here in the UK. It is based on the idea that intolerance to diet ingredients may be a common cause of many chronic dog ailments. When the vet prescribes antibiotics for my skin allergy, he is just relieving the symptoms temporarily – not curing the cause.

I started eating Burns’ hypoallergenic dog food about seven weeks ago. I haven’t been eating it for every meal, and I still get nice human food (that’s food for humans, by the way – not made from humans). I was eating the Lamb and Rice version which is meant to be the best variety of Burns’ for helping relieve skin conditions. I have not taken to it very well, probably I am too used to those spicy leftovers.

This is where I write my words of dog wisdom for my blog. Dogs with blogs have to find a way of working with the keyboard and mouse, this is how I do it. Whenever the muse takes me I sit down behind the laptop, and preferably under the coffee table, and after a few barks or grunts I give Mum the idea of what I want to say on the blog, then it appears in writing. It’s hard work but a dog has to make a living, you know.

We got a great surprise when we got home last night. Ben Wilson came round to the house and painted my picture yesterday. It is right outside the front door, next to the tree. Every time I go for a walk I will see my Kevin the Collie picture, complete with a sausage border! Here is a photo of my picture, see what you think.

I had a great time on the beach yesterday, I am getting used to the south coast and the sunshine. Mum and her sister in law took me househunting (yawn – I think they are addicted) but then they took me to the beach as well. I showed Aunty Judy the way I roll in the sand, I think she is becoming quite a dog lover.

Dad took a picture of us with Ben Wilson when we were giving him all my details for painting my portrait. You can see we were all on the pavement, it was outside a very nice florist near our house, where Ben was painting a pink elephant. Obviously an animal lover! I am at the seaside again for a couple of days, can’t wait to get back and see if my picture is ready.
