CFA – Cat Fancier’s Association, The Largest Purebred Feline Registry
Many people shopping for a feline companion may wonder what
the initials CFA stand for. In order for a particular breed
of cat to be recognized as a pedigreed breed, it must be
recognized by the Cat Fancier’s Association. This
association is the largest purebred feline registry in the
world and recognizes only forty one breeds of cats.

The creation of this association was to ensure breed
standards as well as register litters of kittens from
purebred breeds. The CFA closely monitors all breeds to
ensure that the standard specifics are adhered to for the
ability to showcase felines in their annual cat shows.

Great Dog Lovers’ website

If you think this puppy looks cute, stand by for some of the best dog pix that you have seen in years, at a new website called dogchannel.com. This is an online focal point for all dog lovers, and they also have links to help you find dogs and puppies in the States. You can look at hundreds of dog profiles to match your experience and lifestyle to the characteristics of the various
dogs and puppies, which is very important. There is no point, for example, of adopting a Springer Spaniel if you do not like taking a lot of exercise yourself. The Springer is one of the dog breeds
that has almost boundless energy. They run fast and they will run for hours, as they are bred for hunting. At dogchannel you can get plenty of advice on matching the dog to your life for a happy pack!

If you would like to take on a puppy there are plenty on offer. One of the less usual breeds of late is the so-called sausage dog, and the site has Dachshund puppies ready for adoption. These dogs can be real little characters, and they are bright as a button so a Dachshund owner needs to be assertive or the dog will be in charge! One definite plus with this breed is that they do not moult in the same way as a Collie, so your home will not be filled with lumps of dog hair all summer.

Also on offer at dogchannel: you can register and create your dog’s very own web page on the site, enabling other visitors to learn more about your cute pet. There is also a ‘dog of the day’ title for the profiled dogs, so your dog can get his fifteen minutes of fame.

But the best thing on the site, in my opinion, is this – you can get your own ‘barking’ ring tone downloaded and show your love of dogs every time your mobile rings! I am not the greatest fan of musical ringtones, but this is in a class of its own. Woof woof!

Mum got a new car last week – she has bought two new cars in a fortnight. Her old car had to be scrapped so we were without a car when Dad was at work. She really did not want a nice new car cos she thinks it will just get scratched. So she saw a cheap motor on eBay and we went out on the Tube to collect it – great fun but I don’t like being carried down the escalator. When we got home I got my collar caught on the little lever that adjusts the seat and I started choking till Mum released the collar. Then she decided she did not like the colour – seriously! Bath time

This week I am staying at Dad’s flat, where we are supervising the builders. They have had to return because the steps they built last October have collapsed. This is the staircase down to the basement and in its place we now have a big muddy hole, which is covered up so I do not fall down it. Ar least the new Danze faucets in the bathroom are OK, so I will be getting yet another bath this weekend.

Dad is really funny, he took me to Mum’s niece’s house on Saturday and they were all having dinner together. Trouble is, they have a cat and it really does not like me. Cannot think why, cos I only ate a bit of her dinner. Anyway they decided I should stay in the car during dinner, but the alarm has motion sensor lights and if I move it starts making loads of noise. Dad deactivated the sensor, and I had a nice little sleep for an hour or so.
