Why do humans have to make such a fuss about cooking? They need so much variety in their food and they need books and books of recipes. My Dad is getting yet another cook book for Christmas – he wanted to become a chef and he is really interested in cooking lots of new dishes. Now he needs to keep his cholesterol levels down he is looking out for food that will help with his condition. Of course, I get to try them too so I do get some bonuses from all his recipe experiments. Now he has found a new website called http://www.chefs.com/ and he has spent ages getting new ideas for organic eating recipes that he is going to try out on us very soon. That is all well and good but I hope he finds some nice ways of cooking sausages as they are my ultimate favourite food.

Last night Mum had a migraine so she was not very happy when I woke her at 3.30am because I needed to go outside for the toilet. ‘Go in the garden. Kev’ she pleaded. But I am so well house trained that I have to go a long way from home before I am happy to go. Poor Mum had to get dressed, and take me or a walk. When I started barking she got quite annoyed, I can’t think why.

The TV reception down here on the coast is terrible, and that is probably why most people have satellite dishes installed on their houses. They also seem to have very big screens on their televisions, not exactly a Bose home theater but often not far short. Seems a bit showy to me.

We are way behind with our Christmas shopping, but I have told everyone that I am very easy to please. All I want are things that I can eat – some nice Nature Diet for Dogs, some special biscuits and treats will do me fine. The last thing I want is one of those personalized pens
that humans resort to buying when they have run out of ideas.

I have finally won the battle over dog food, and Mum has reluctantly stopped trying to persuade me to eat the dry dog food brands like Burns. Now I am getting packet or tinned food, and I really wish I could also serve it myself. Maybe with a one touch can opener I can get my paws round the tin and my dinner will be all ready for me.
