Apparently I shed too much fur all over the car. The last time the car was valeted the cleaner said he knew exactly what colour Mum’s dog must be, cos he cleaned up so much dog hair belonging to me. We have been looking at vehicle accessories and the options are to get a truck with a tonneau cover or a pet barrier so I can see it the boot. I would rather lie in the footwell, as usual!

My Nan is really getting a taste for good living since she moved house. She is still planning a holiday and now she is looking at cruises to the Med. Apparently cruises do not have to cost a fortune and they are a good way to see lots of different places in a short time. They are also romantic, so maybe she will find me a new Grandad to buy me lots of treats.

Mum has been checking a lot of dog friendly hotels in the UK, and you might want to read about the hotels that she found. We are going to stay in Devon and we have found a hotel that gives every dog a goodie bag when they check in. There are some excellent dog friendly hotels in Devon near the beaches and we are looking forward to our stay. Mum and Dad also wanted hotels with WiFi internet access and they were quite surprised at how many doggie hotels in Devon offer free internet access as well. We have found two really good dog friendly hotels that let the humans play with their laptops, so everyone is happy.

My Dad is so funny – he said he was looking at a pub review website the other day and he saw a review of the Royal Oak in Muswell Hill by Kevin the Collie. ‘Oh’ he thought, ‘is there another dog called Kevin?’ No Dad, that was me. I always review the pubs where dogs are made welcome. The good news today is that my favourite pub is now smoke free, along with the rest of England. That is good news for dogs and humans.

When Mum talks about Lists it is sometimes hard to know what kind of lists she is talking about. Is it a list of all the things she needs for me, or is it something to do with the business? Usually of course she is talking about her work. Apparently the money is in the list. We are on plenty of other people’s lists ourselves and Mum needs regular new customer leads. She is thinking of buying lists from a direct mail service like Martin Worldwide. This company owns the largest, most comprehensive database on the planet, called ResponseCom. This is a complex database that combines US Response and US Consumer databases. Martin Worldwide have used all their experience and years of tracking and compiling results on their campaigns to provide a superior service for anyone in teh direct response business.

We are down at my Nan’s again and there is plenty of cleaning going on. I do not see why they just keep on cleaning anything that moves. At least they left me alone this week. The reason – Mum does not want to get the bath dirty at Nan’s house by bathing me in it. Cheek: I just accumulate a bit of honest dust while I am walking around.

On Friday there was another cleaning frenzy when we had a visit from the window cleaner.
He said some of the upstairs windows had not been cleaned for ages and they were extra dirty. I was asleep in the study when he appeared outside the window to start washing it. I stayed exactly where I was, but Mum wanted to know what I would have done if he had been a burglar? I knew who he was already! And then yesterday they went shopping and guess what they bought: more cleaning products for the house. Oh, one other little surprise is that they have got a new bath sponge for me, plus some special shampoo to make my coat shine even more. I must be the cleanest dog for miles …………
