Woofing you a merry christmas

We got a great Christmas card from Lucky, ‘We woof you a Merry Christmas and a Yappy New Year’. Here it is – the dog looks smart with a beard and Santa hat.
Lucky has gone on holiday by the sea in Northumberland for two weeks while his family are away for Christmas in Brazil. Rio de Janeiro or Redcar beach – which would you choose for a dog to play on? Well, at least you don’t have to take Malaria tablets if you stay in England.

Poodles on the Christmas Tree

We went to a shop called ‘Queens’ at Spitalfields which is really dog friendly. They sell ornaments and OTT decorations, as you can see. The owner’ s dog, Dukesie, was snoozing in a dog basket at the back of the shop, Mum took me over to meet him, we got on very well and Dukesie’s Dad was really pleased. Mum gave Dukesie some treats cos she said he is one of the best behaved dogs she’s met. We stayed there for ages – Mum was looking at the Christmas decorations, she said they were ‘fab’. There were loads of doggie decorations, mainly cute poodles, almost everything in pink. How she finds these places I don’t know. Mum bought some flying horses for the christmas tree, plus a secret present 9not for me, I think). If we had not been able to go in together she would not have bought anything: some other shops don’t seem to understand this!

Christmas Gift from the Heart

Dad wants to get fitter – back to the gym- so he might like a heart rate monitor for Christmas. These gadgets measure the resting heart rate and the rate during exercise, then he can check the right heart rate to aim for to burn fat or improve his endurance. To train your heart or to burn calories, you need to be in the right heart rate zone. Many people don’t realize this and then they work themselves too hard without achieving the results they want. Heart rate is the only accurate measurement of intensity or exertion level, and Heart Rate Monitors will tell him continuously andprecisely what his heart rate is, so that he can work with the intensity to keep his heart rate exactly where he wants it, so he can get the greatest possible gains from his time. Then he has more time to take me for a walk!

Spitalfields is Dog Friendly

You probably remember that Spitalfields is one of our favourite dog friendly places to go. We can get a cup of tea and a cake together in the covered market, and I can see all the food stalls, where I usually get a sample of sausage or cheese. It was really crowded this week and Dad had to carry me through the busiest bits. He loves that, cos young girls go by and say how cute I look. Dad thinks they are chatting him up: sorry Dad, it is me they admire!

Anti Dog Places -Geffrye Museum is not dog friendly

We wanted to see the Christmas Exhibition and Christmas. We turned up at 4.40 – nearly closing time – and the guy said dogs are not allowed in the Geffrye Museum. Fair enough, They said, cos They thought it was safe to leave me in the garden. BUT it got worse. The Geffrye Museum warden followed us outside and insisted I was not allowed in the grounds either! Why not? ‘It’s private property’ said the Geffrye Museum jobsworth. Shame, cos Mum and Dad both used to like the place, but they won’t bother going to the Geffrye Museum again if the place is so hostile to dogs and their owners. If you live in London do not take your dog to the Geffrye Museum!
PS They’d better chase that monkey out ..

Dog Christmas Presents

I have had my first Christmas present, from my friend Lucky. His family are going away for two weeks over Christmas and he is going to stay with a cousin, who lives near a beach – I am jealous! So I got him a chewable hedgehog and crocodile, they will make a change from the wine corks that he chews normally. Hope he doesn’t read this cos I told his Mum he should wait till Christmas Day. My present is under the Christmas Tree ..
