My mate Miss Sunshade, the Airedale Terrier, sent me a lovely message at Christmas. She went out to play in the snow on Christmas Day, and here is a great pic. She is wearing special doggie snowboots, a smart red harness and a fab Christmas hat - I think she looks gorgeous, wish I was there, Sunshade.
I should be flattered I suppose, but I am not. All my blog posts from my Kevin the Collie blog over at least five months have been reprinted, without any credit or backlink to me, on a blog from a site called k 9 training .info/blog I gave left the gaps cos I do not want to give them any backlinks for their plagiarised material. I have written to their webmaster demanding that they cease and desist, if you feel strongly you can check it out and register your protest. Thanks. Kev. Christmas Day was great - I had a long lie in, a short walk in the morning before Mum went to collect her Mum. On Christmas Eve Mum and Dad bought a whole salmon and they cooked the head for my breakfast: it was really yummy and I ate it with carrots and potatoes. Dad and I started cooking the turkey while Mum was out, I stayed close by in case Dad needed me to hoover up any spilt food!!
When Mum and Nanny got back we started opening pressies. I got a squeaky toy from Lucky, an edible card from Abby, a tin of excellent biscuits from Mum, and a doggie selection box from Nanny. But last, and best, was a huge marrow bone that Dad bought for me from the market. In the first picture I am opening the parcel, then I started nibbling the marrow part. Then I managed to upend the bone to get all the best bits out, and in the right hand photo I started to break the bone down. Yum!
In this picture I am back in the kitchen, with the bone in pieces. Now I feel like a real wild dog!! However, then They decided to destroy my street cred by dressing me up in this silly hat. I don’t look very wild wearing a paper hat, I guess.
Then it got worse. They had collected a pile of glitter from that fairy shop that we visited in Spitalfields, and they thought it would be really cute to see me wearing glitter again … Even when I took a well-earned nap! Tags:dogs, weblog, pets, diary, dog food,
Mum has two cousins in Cumbria, and she last saw them a year ago. They also met me, of course. Well I must have impressed them because they both now have dogs of their own. Jack is a Patterdale Terrier, and Flint is a Fell terrier. You can see some pictures of the breeds here. It turns out that Mum adores Patterdale terriers, as she had a toy dog on wheels that was modelled on that shape. Did anyone else’s Mum have the same toy dog? Tags:dogs, weblog, pets, diary, dog food,
Mum and Dad took me to midnight mass last year - our first Christmas together - at our local church, St Andrew’s. We had a nice time and I just went to sleep after a while. Tonight we arrived and the incense was wafting around, I think the excitement of the occasion got to me cos I had a bit of a bark. Mum shut her hand over my mouth and told me off, but then I realised I needed to go outside if you know what I mean!! So I made a few howling noises till they got the message. But when we came back in, I started to think about my Christmas presents and I barked again. Horror! dad marched me outside and I was not allowed in the crib procession. Mum apologised to the people around her, and to the vicar, but he was very laid back about it - well, it is Christmas, can’t a dog sing in praise? Tags:dogs, weblog, pets, diary, dog food,
In Highgate Woods we met a very nice Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy called Bernard. At five months old he is still learning to socialise, and when we first met he was being submissive, crouching when we approached. He soon got more confidence and I did my favourite sniffing dance with him, which is my way of shaking hands! He lives outside London normally, so I probably won’t see him again.
