House Training for Dogs part two

We spent Tuesday and Wednesday looking at houses and apartments, but I don’t understand why they did not just buy the first one they saw. I just wanted to find the best corner for a nap. We were in Rye, Hastings, Winchelsea and Camber, where we visited a building site to see some new eco houses with grass roofs. I wonder how I can get up there for a pee? It really is much better around there for a dog – everyone welcomed me into shops, bars and pubs, and there was mostly a water bowl available. Mum and Dad like being able to see the stars at night: they say there is too much light in London. I do not bother looking at the sky, cos I can usually find something more interesting to sniff on the ground.

House Training an Older Dog

Not that I need house training - Mum says I am perfect! We have just been on holiday in Sussex for a few days, in Rye which is near Camber Sands. I visited my top roadside cafe again for my sausage treat, then we went to the beach. I met a pretty who could have been my elder sister – Lizzie from Essex. Then I paddled a bit before my sandbath – my happiest time. But we spent most time looking at houses and flats: I got quite tired cos I missed out on my usual afternoon sleep. Mum went to see an agent and I curled right up under the chair for a doze. On Monday evening we went to The Union Inn, Rye – very dog friendly and they serve a great Crab Salad, according to Mum and Dad.

Kevin the Collie Visits his Dog Friendly Local

Another good night at the pub – Mum and Dad took me to the Famous Royal Oak, one of the most friendly pubs around. I walk around off the lead, mixing with the customers as I choose.
Obviously this is only possible for a well behaved dog after training! We met a very nice young Irish couple, but we forgot to get their names. They live in Muswell Hill as well so I will catch them next time. No food available last night so we had to make do with crisps – yum!
PS Hana asked me about crips – there is a picture above. My other fave snacks are prawn crackers: picture here. Dad gets Prawn Crackers with a Chinese Takeaway.

New Dog Breed at Dog Show and Agility Competition

Today was the Muswell Hill Festival, but Haringey Council banned the Donkey Derby, so it was moved to East Finchley. There was a dog agility competition and a small dog show. I went round the agility course once but I keep telling them it is not my thing. Loads of nice dogs to meet, and I raided a picnic but Mum did not tell me off – you cannot leave food on the ground when there are dogs about! Then a new experience for all of us – a young Labradoodle .. called Boujey. He was big, and they expect him to grow to about twice my size. Dad says he prefers a dog my size, but when we learnt that Australian Labradoodles are allergy friendly dogs that do not shed fur (unlike me), we could see why people want them as pets. We have met asthma sufferers who would love to have a dog but thought they could never have a . A could be the answer.

Celebrity Dog Food

Finally a photo of me that Dad took at one of my favourite places, the Epping Forest Tea Hut - it is not the Ritz but we like it. In the middle of the forest, they serve great tea (from a teapot), cheese rolls and cakes. The guy who runs it is called Brendan, and he usually puts out a bowl of water for the dogs. But I am more interested in the food treats I get. You may think I look aloof in the photo – I am just worried Mum is going to drop me!

Cool Dog Site of the Day – Kevin the Collie

Well we needed cheering up after hearing about cruelty to earlier. Then Mum found out that we are ‘Cool Dog Website of the Day’ at dogmark. Please make sure you vote for us as Site of the Month! Must go now, Mum has promised me an extra dog biscuit.
